Marco Polo's journey

This week students inquired about Marco Polo's journeys. They were puzzled about his motivation to take such a long trip away from home and all his discoveries along the way. He spent 24 years away from home. Can you imagine this?

They found out the tools used during navigation and things Marco Polo brought with him back home.

Students have been very curious about this unit and have demonstrated it by their engagement and bringing books and objects from home. Please encourage your child to find objects and books related to this Unit (objects you brought from trips, books about places and explorers, compass, etc)

We developed our comprehension skills as we read and watched videos about Marco Polo and worked with Spatial Awareness as we explored features of a world map and played games about Cardinal Directions.
