Happy New Year and welcome back to school. We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome new families to our school.

• Carnaval Holidays: 16/2 - 18/2, classes resume on 19/2.

Please be advised that due to the water shortage swimming lessons have been cancelled. We would also like to remind all students to hand in their Reading Challenges as special prizes are waiting! Unit Three Folders will go home on Friday. Please see the homework for this week below:

Mr. Alperowitch Speaks to PYP 5 About Investments

It is always a valuable experience for the children to have a parent come in and share useful knowledge. This is what PYP 5 parent, Mr. Alperowitch, did with our students this morning. He shared his expertise with students and gave some insight on methods of investment and historical examples from companies such as Apple, McDonalds, and Citibank.  

We would like to thank Mr. Alperowitch for taking time out of his busy schedule. We hope this insight helps guide our students towards a bright future!

This is our last full week of school before the holidays! Please read below for some updates.

Important Dates:

• Library Reminder: Parents should send written authorisations in the diaries  to check out up to three books from the library this summer.
• 16^th of December is the last day of classes before the holidays.
• 2^nd of February is the first day of the new term after the holidays.

Dear Parents, 

We only have fifteen school days left before the holidays! 

Important dates:

• 5th of December is the PYP 5 Omega assembly taking place at around 08:00. 
• 6th of December is the St. Francis Bazaar taking place in Pinheiros between 10:00-13:00.
• 16th of December is the last day before the holidays (15:30).
• 2nd of February is the first day of the new term after the holidays. 

Homework:

Maths: go to MyiMaths.com and complete the exercise on Counting Coins and/or Money Introductions (Assignments vary per child).

Language Arts: Shape Poems.
