Dear parents,
Maths and Science Week is over and students had an amazing time taking part in experiments and challenges in many areas of Maths and Science.
There is a list of experiments and challenges that students from Pinheiros and Jd. Europa investigated and prepared a presentation on: Milk and Colours, Magnet Tracks, Tangram Challenge, Gravity Trick, Planes designs, Estimate the Beans, Parachute Drop, Tornado in a bottle, Egg Spin, Plugged up Nose Taste Test, Perspective and Lines and Angles.
Pictures of the event at the end of this post.
This week we are back to our schedule and students are researching about the Space and the Solar System with its elements to gather information about the structure of a system. There are lots of interesting facts popping up in the class and we are encouraging students to take this INQUIRY mind everywhere and beyond the school grounds. So we ask you please to support your child at home and help them in their tasks if needed. One of them, for example, is to observe the sky and record the shape of the moon throughout this month. They can use a worksheet that will be sent home in their folders to keep track of their observations.
This Wednesday 25th we are going on another school outing to watch 'Viagem ao Centro da Terra' at Teatro Alpha. Please make sure the authorization slip and payment has been sent back to school.
Also this week, we will start to discuss and prepare items to sell at the St. Francis Bazaar. Each class is preparing a different item and parents are welcome to take part in this process. Class representatives will be in touch with class teachers to know the times when students will be preparing the items. If you would like to help, please contact them to arrange a time to come to school and get to work with the students.
We look forward to working together with you to produce beautiful items for the St. Francis Bazaar!
Have a great week!
